Downtown Block Party brings Food, Music, and Fun to Bloomfield Center

05-17-2019

The Bloomfield Center Alliance (BCA) is hosting a good old fashioned Block Party on Saturday, June 1st from 12 noon – 8 PM! For the third time in four years, the event is a great opportunity for attendees to enjoy a day of delicious “eats and treats” from various area restaurants, along with great music, dancing, and family fun. It’s all happening on the first block of Washington Street (between Glenwood Avenue and Farrand Street) and is free to attend (participating restaurants will be selling food and beverages from individual stations). Parking will also be free in the nearby Royal Parking lot. A total of fifteen restaurants and food vendors will be on hand serving delicious foods and beverages. They include: Aki Asian House, Anthony’s, Bloomfield Buy Rite, Bucco Italian Restaurant, Burgers Grilled Right, Café Mobay, El Toro Loco Modern Mexican, Essex Junction Craft Kitchen and Bar, Gourmet Dining @ Bloomfield College, Heavenly Flavors, Jack’s Super Foodtown, Pure Love Pies, Taqueria Los Guerros, and The Wooden Spoon Southern Kitchen and Saloon. The party kicks off with live blues courtesy of hometown favorite party band – The New Watchdog Blues Band who will play until 3:30. They will be followed by a dance deejay from Eye to Eye Entertainment who will spin classic and new dance tunes and closing out the party until 8 PM. This event, which was cancelled last year due to inclement weather, is made possible with the cooperation of Bloomfield Township and generous sponsorship support from several local entities. Primary sponsor, The Shops at Bloomfield Station, owns/manages the commercial retail space in the new Avalon development located in the heart of Bloomfield Center. It is home to several restaurants and stores providing local residents and visitors a convenient destination for shopping and dining. Additional sponsors include Clara Maass Medical Center-RWJ Barnabas Health and Universal Technical Institute (UTI), which recently opened a new campus in Bloomfield Township.
