The Bloomfield Center Bike Depot celebrated its opening last month. Staff from the Bloomfield Center Alliance joined several dignitaries and other stakeholders to commemorate the occasion. Located in the ground level of the Glenwood Avenue Parking Garage, the facility provides a safe, secure space for area residents and frequent Bloomfield Center visitors to store their bikes. Mayor Venezia and Essex County Freeholder Brendan Gill shared a few words regarding the value of this new facility. The hope is that it will encourage more visitors to Bloomfield Center. Also in attendance was local business owner Andrew Reimann of Jalapeno Cycling.
The bike depot is a partnership between the Bloomfield Parking Authority and the New Jersey Bike Walk Coalition and was supported by a grant from the Partners for Health Foundation. Use of the facility requires membership, so please contact the NJBWC for information and to register.
