Representatives of the Bloomfield Center Alliance (BCA) had the pleasure of attending the opening night reception of an art exhibit on display in the main lobby of Provident Bank. The artwork includes various pieces from four local artists - photographer Elzbieta Kaciuba, ceramist Peter Syak, and painters Erin O' Brien Kenna and the late Janet McCarthy.

The show's curator is Bloomfield resident and cartoonist Kevin Calhoun. In this brief article, he shares that the inspiration came as a result of a BCA-sponsored meeting he attended several months ago discussing how arts and culture programming can help attract new visitors to Bloomfield Center. The BCA will soon be unveiling its Bloomfield Center Arts and Culture Plan which emphasizes activities like this show as part of a multi-tiered strategy to use the arts to help attract people and, by extension, bolster the local business community.

The BCA acknowledges Kevin's work in bringing this exhibition to Bloomfield and thanks Provident Bank for hosting it in their branch's main lobby. The artwork will be on display from October 15th -19th and can be viewed during the bank's normal business hours.
