Downtown businesses support beautification efforts

Responding to an invitation extended by the BCA to participate in its new Adopt-a-Planter initiative, a total of thirteen downtown businesses signed up to be the first sponsors of individual sidewalk planters located throughout the downtown district.  For an annual fee, each business gets a custom fabricated metal sign displaying its name, logo, and address. The signs are secured in one of twenty sidewalk planters chosen by the business owner and placed so they can easily be seen by downtown visitors and residents.  According to BCA Director, Ollyn J. Lettman, this new program "promotes the name and brand of the business adopting the planter, while also providing them the opportunity‚ to support the organization in its ongoing beautification efforts."  Collaborating with the BCA on this program was another downtown business AVI Design who designed and fabricated the signs.
