Downtown landmark demolished after catastrophic fire!

01-19-2021

January 19th, 2021 - After almost a year of sitting abandoned and vacant, the property that once housed the Roxy Florist shop, along with several other small businesses is being torn down. The building suffered a catastrophic fire last year on January 21st, but the site will be cleared and the parcel put up for sale by the owner. The hope is that a new development contributing to the downtown's economic growth will eventually be erected there. This section of Glenwood Avenue will also be the place where a series of streetscape improvements will be completed, including new sidewalks, curbs/pavers, streetlights, and roadway. The project, announced by the township in November, will be finished this spring.
