Bloomfield Center event helps raise money for frontline medical workers
In early August, BCA Executive Director Ollyn Lettman was joined by members of the Bloomfield Cruisers Car Club in presenting a check for $1,000 to officials of Clara Maass Medical Center. To be used in support of the hospital's Emergency Response Fund, the donation was raised as part of the BCA's Cruise Night Car Show series which took place in Bloomfield's downtown district over several Wednesday evenings in June and July. The funds were collected from participating car owners, with additional funds received through individual donations and a contribution from the Bloomfield Cruisers.
In speaking about the donation and those who assisted, Mr. Lettman states, "In light of the challenge facing this community and the incredible work of the doctors, nurses, and other frontline staff at Clara Maass Medical Center, the Bloomfield Center Alliance want to thank those classic car owners who came out during this summer's Cruise Night Shows in Bloomfield Center and contributed to this worthy cause."
"We are grateful for the gift that we have we have received from the Bloomfield Center Alliance to support the many heroes of healthcare at Clara Maass Medical Center, who kept patient care as a priority during the COVID-19 pandemic" said Celeste Oranchak' Vice President of Development, Clara Maass Medical Center Foundation.
"To Ollyn and our friends at the Bloomfield Center Alliance' we thank you for being there for Clara Maass Medical Center” said Mary Ellen Clyne, President and Chief Executive Officer, Clara Maass Medical Center. "It warms my heart to know that we have partners in our community who are here to support our team especially during the most challenging and unprecedented period of time" Clyne said.
The check presentation was made at the campus of the Universal Technical Institute where the Bloomfield Cruisers, in partnership with the township's Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Affairs Department is continuing the Cruise Night series through the end of August.
