The authors come to various conclusions about the nature of the act and its impact on themselves and society as a whole. We begin with Brando Skyhorses struggles passing as a Native American at the insistence of his mother. Lisa Page discusses how her black great-grandmother passed for white in Mississippi to get a college education. Rafia Zakaria's description of the acts of passing required to get through airport security as a Muslim American, while Gabrielle Bellot, writes about passing as a cisgender woman.
